This weekend Tim and I took Jackson up to Squamish for a Day Out With Thomas. We had such a great day. Jackson was so excited. It was wonderful to spend some quality time with our sweet boy.
Jackson said it best. "This was a great day, mama."
Oh, my has it ever been awhile. Motherhood the 2nd time around has kept me so busy I have been neglecting a few things that matter to me. One being this blog. I have decided I am going to try to make time to post and continue to use this as my outlet. If I can't then I am going to have to move over to a free site. Fingers crossed I can do it!
We have all been well. The arrival of spring has made me so happy. It makes our days so much better. Getting outside, exploring and collecting treasures has made us all in a better mood. The lighter evenings are inspiring me to get out for an evening walk. I love this time of year.
So, I am hoping this new season will bring brighter days and a chance to keep up with things that matter.
Happy spring to you!
What a joyous time. My two boys have brought new life into Christmas and I have savoured the day watching Jack's bright eyes and listening to little Hudson's sweet coo's. I head into the new year excited about what's to come and hoping time stands still long enough for me to truly remember what a lucky girl I am.
Jackson woke up sick this morning, which was disappointing because he had his heart set on seeing a bit of the Santa Clause Parade. He insisted he was well enough to go and then at the last minute looked at me and told me he needed to stay home. I felt bad for the little guy so I busted out this cheap pre-baked gingerbread house and we spent some time decorating it. He was pleased.
Last weekend we had family over to meet Hudson and have a visit. My intention was to order take-out and keep it easy for myself. I LOVE to cook, but these past few months, being pregnant and then having a new baby, I haven't felt like doing anything in the kitchen. I have been feeling guilty about what has made it to the dinner table and thought this evening was perfect to get back in the cooking mood.
I spent the morning making moussaka, which is a big job, but worth the work. It was a meal enjoyed by all!
On another note, Hudson is a month old! Time is already going so quickly.
As Jack tried to settle into an afternoon nap I walked past his room and heard a little rustling. When I went in he was up and just about to grab something off his train table. I asked him to please lay back down and try to have a little rest. We are going to have some friends over tonight and I wanted him to be well rested. I layed down next to him for a little cuddle and he wrapped his arms around me. He moved extra close to me and said, "I am so lucky you love me mama". Tear welled in my eyes and I told him I was the lucky one. Melt my heart!
